Why Family Therapy?
Family therapy supports families to have difficult conversations about things that are important to them.
It provides a space and neutral space where individual voices can be heard. It can focus on improving communication, resolving conflict, or strengthening relationships within families. It can help parents to parent together well, and support individual members to reconnect, and to feel heard and supported. It can reduce tension in families. I work with 'families' of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds, with a whole range of presenting behaviours
All families and family relationships can benefit from family therapy, regardless of their structure or factors such as culture, race, religion, gender, sexuality, social status, or other factors . I have worked with adult siblings, parents and adult children, parents and younger children, adoptive parents and children, and foster carers.
My approach as a therapist is one of curiosity, respect, kindness, and collaboration. My hope is to meet your family where you are at, to understand the uniqueness of your family and to be able to support you to make the changes that you would like to make.
