Individual Psychotherapy

It is not uncommon to experience periods of anxiety, panic, depression or sadness. We might struggle with a specific issue, such as grief, or loneliness. Our mental health can affect our daily functioning, our sleep, our ability to focus and make decisions. We can find ourself losing motivation and feeling stuck.

Systemic Psychotherapy and emotionally focussed therapy are evidence based approaches to support individuals to explore thoughts and experiences, identify unconscious motivations, and understand the patterns of thinking and behaving that contribute to them staying stuck. They aid increased self awareness and help us to identify strengths and resources, to increase resilience.

I work with individuals who experience mood related concerns, relationship difficulties, eating disorders, self-harming behaviours, addictive behaviours and other issues. I hope to help you to to take charge of your lives,

Who is psychotherapy for?

When should I have therapy?

Many people seek therapy when they feel uncertain, in crisis, overwhelmed or stuck. They might work through difficult thoughts, emotions, or experiences to find a more settled place from which to carry on.

Some people seek therapy when things are more settled, to help them to make sense of their lives, their decisions, and patterns of behaviour. Therapy can be helpful no matter our age. Personally, I have worked with the very young (aged 5), a much more senior and mature adult, aged 82, and many individuals in between. There are no restrictions or right times, and can be helpful for anybody looking to live healthier, happier or more productive lives.
